THE FACES BEHIND THE BEER

Donnie was brought to the Wilmington area from Cary, NC, after joining the Marines and being stationed out of Camp Lejeune. He met Brookes Musser in 2013 and their love for each other, and craft beer, brought them to where they are today. Donnie and Brookes joined the family business and eventually opened Bill’s Brewing in 2016. Donnie oversees day to day operations in brewing, packaging, sales, and distribution. When he’s not working, he enjoys watching NC State athletics, holding his breath for the Dallas Cowboys to win another Superbowl, or playing with his sons.

Callan was born in Selma, Alabama, but spent most of her life in Wilmington. She has worked in the craft beer scene for many years, including managing two bottle shops and working for a large beer and wine distributor. However, her heart led her to Bill’s, in hopes of growing the brand and being a voice in the Wilmington beer scene. Speaking of voice, Callan is the lead singer of Dirty White Rags and Starlight Speedway! When she’s not working, you can catch her singing with her bands, writing music or loving on her animals.

Nolan hails from Pinehurst, North Carolina, though, surprisingly, he’s not a golfer! Instead, he was a collegiate swimmer before making the move to Wilmington in July 2023. His passion for craft beer began while working at Southern Pines Growler, which ultimately led him to discover Capt’n Bill’s and Bill’s Brewing. As a sales rep for Bill’s Brewing, Nolan is dedicated to sharing great beer with the community. When he’s not working, he’s often still at Capt’n Bill’s playing volleyball or enjoying time by the ocean, whether it’s a summer swim or a winter cold plunge. And if you don’t catch him out in the field, you might just find him behind the bar at Capt’n Bill’s, pouring your favorite drink!

Harrison has been in the brewing industry going on 8 years. Originally from Wendell, NC, he moved to our coastal community and has developed roots. When he’s not busy in the brewery, you can catch him grilling, fishing, or playing with his boys. He thinks people who brew are crazy, but it doesn’t stop him from joining in on the party.

Originally from the coast and never far from a board, Patrick is a longtime fan of all things crisp, especially when it comes to lagers. A surfer, skater, and lover of Pillow Talk, he brings a laid-back energy to the Bill’s crew that fits right in. With over 7 years of experience in the industry, Patrick spends his time making sure your beer comes out just right. Off the clock, you can usually find him chasing waves or cruising around town on his board.

Alex has also been in the brewing industry for more than 7 years, and it shows! When he's not on the clock, he loves to take his girlfriend and 3 dogs out in his little boat: The Sea Flea! He also loves the music scene in our coastal town, especially catching concerts down at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater. When we asked Alex what his favorite thing about Bill’s is, he had to go with the laid back atmosphere and the Fried Chicken!

Sean is one of the happiest guys we know! When he’s not at work,  he likes to stay busy playing guitar or piano, hiking and camping, working on cars and his motorcycle, making jewelry, and cooking meals for family and friends. He also is a big fan of TV and movies, or finding a brief moment with a favorite book.  Sean’s favorite thing about working at Bills is an easy one: the people. His favorite beer took a little more thinking, but he settled on Electric Squeeze!
